It’s an excellent question, Ted. My take is that when people’s fates are intertwined, they are in the same tribe. We used to be very separate from each other, and operated more independantly.

Today, I see us all as one tribe. We’re all in the same boat. Some are in the boiler room and others in the captain’s quarters, but we rise and fall together. Left and right. Black and white. Rich and poor. Many of us don’t realize this and it can also seem not to be the case. But it is. We’re all in view and reach of each other. And ultimately linked. This is perhaps an arguable point, but that’s my sense of it.
